Kris Hellenbrand

Physical Therapist

New Life Member Since 2008

Kris is a physical therapist practicing at the Portage clinic. Kris earned her Master of Physical Therapy degree from Carroll University and has been a physical therapist in the Portage area since 2003. She enjoys working with people of all ages, helping them to get back to all the activities that are important to them. After experiencing her own pelvic floor dysfunction after the birth of her second child, Kris developed a passion for women’s health physical therapy (treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, and urinary incontinence). She wants to help women improve this aspect of their lives knowing first-hand what a powerful impact this can have on quality of life. She also specializes in visceral manipulation (which is a gentle manual therapy that aids your body’s ability to release restrictions and unhealthy compensations that cause pain and dysfunction) and is a certified dry needling provider.

What Kris likes most about being a physical therapist: “I like getting to know each individual (in mind, body and spirit) and helping to empower them to return to the activities that they need and want to do so that they can enjoy life.”

Outside of work: Kris enjoys spending time with her husband, three children and two black labs. She enjoys biking, hiking, cooking, playing sports with her family, book club and watching sports (her kids and the pros) – Go St. Mary’s Knights, Go Bucky, and Go Pack!
