New Life Member Since 2016

John is a physical therapist at our Portage location. John completed his physical therapy education at Mayo Clinic, receiving a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2008. Prior to this, he received a B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota in 2004. A Wisconsin native, John has practiced in Madison and Rhinelander. John is a graduate of the UW-Health Meriter Hospital Orthopaedic Residency program and was awarded his Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) credential in 2011. John completed the Gray Institute for Functional Transformation (GIFT) Fellowship and is a Fellow of Applied Functional Science (FAFS). He has certifications in Functional Manual Reaction (FMR), Trigger Point Dry Needling, and Applied Functional Science.

What John likes most about being a physical therapist: “I enjoy the personal level of involvement that PTs have with their patients. Helping someone get better means getting them back to what is important to them, and in our profession you get to know your patients as individuals. Seeing them improve and resume their normal functions is what brings you back to work ready to go every morning.”

Outside of Work:  John’s personal interests include homebrewing, collecting/restoring vintage Coleman lanterns, hunting, ice fishing, camping, and of course spending time in the outdoors with his wife, two sons, and two dogs. He is a member of Lions Club in Westfield and enjoys being a part of the community.
