Physical Therapist

Dr. Michael Larson is a Physical Therapist who splits time between the Portage and Baraboo clinics. He has been with New Life since 2026, and did a clinical internship with New Life in 2025 while getting his doctorate.

He became a physical therapist because of his background in athletics, where he saw firsthand the power that exercise and movement can have in healing and improving people’s lives. He strongly believes in using natural, non-invasive solutions such as movement, quality nutrition and sleep, mindfulness, and stress management versus the traditional model of medication and surgery. Dr. Michael feels that the most important aspect of successful physical therapy is the relationship between the patient and therapist, and that effective care happens in collaboration. He strives to empower every person he works with to not only return to the activities they love but also to make sustainable, lasting lifestyle changes.

Outside of work, Dr. Michael enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly in Devil’s Lake State Park and the many natural areas in the Baraboo range. He spends most of his time rock climbing, but also enjoys hiking, camping, and trail running. He also enjoys going to see live music, cooking, and spending time with friends and family.
