New Life Physical Therapy is excited to welcome physical therapist Joe Schilz who is now practicing in our Portage clinic. He earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2018 and his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree in 2014, both from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. A Wisconsin native, Joe has practiced physical therapy in both the orthopedic/sports setting in the suburbs of Minneapolis, MN and in the home health setting in Madison, WI. He has a particular interest in sports-related rehabilitation, but enjoys working with people of all ages and abilities. Joe is a certified dry needling provider and also enjoys using a combination of manual techniques and functional activities to achieve optimal movement.
What Joe likes most about being a physical therapist: “The best part of my job is truly building relationships with each of my patients so that I’m better able to get them moving how they want to be. I enjoy engaging with each person during their sessions to help make the experience as valuable to them as I can. Being able to help guide a patient to success and seeing that progress materialize is a rewarding part of being a PT.”
Outside of work Joe enjoys spending time with his fiancé Samantha, their black lab-mix Zoey, or with friends and family. You will likely find him hiking, camping, hunting, attending concerts, or checking out local eateries and breweries. He is an avid sports fan and lives for Green Bay Packers game day.
