Our workshops are a great resource to help people understand conditions that may hinder our ability to move and do the things we want to do or ways to increase our strength and ability. We are in the process of planning our next Free Online Workshops and would like to hear what topics would be helpful to YOU. What restricts your movement? What hinders you from moving and doing the things you want to do? Maybe your movement is pretty good. Is there something you would like to learn more about to increase or strengthen your movement ability?
“I had my elbow so knotted up and could not move it or even pick something up with it. I thought it was an old injury, but it was more than that. I went to my M.D. and she said you have a bad case of tennis elbow and referred me to P.T. I have had so much great help from New Life in years past and wanted to go again. Joe got right to the core of the problem and treated it. With the exercises they both proved to un-knot my elbow. I still and will always do my exercises to keep it healthy. Thank you Joe!!!”
“Aches and pains seem to be part of growing older. When the orthopedic surgeon told me I needed a hip, knee and shoulder replacement, I was stunned. I didn’t even know I had arthritis. I scheduled the knee surgery first, but changed it to hip replacement after stepping into a hole caused unbearable pain. Between COVID restrictions and surgery the entire event was causing stress. Surprisingly within a month of surgery followed by Physical Therapy at New Life I was pretty comfortable. New Life staff was supportive and designed a plan to get my fitness level back to my favorite sport, horseback riding. Two months along and I’m totally mobile and working on pre-surgery ‘bumps’. These people are amazing!!”
There was a recent article that mentioned if you wrap your banana stem very tightly in foil, you can make your bananas last longer. (Wrapping each banana separately supposedly works best). The reason has to do with the natural release of ethylene gas, like many fruits do, which controls the browning and ripening of the fruit and other fruits nearby. Much of the release takes place at the stem or crown of the banana. Well, I tried it and while I wasn’t sure they looked like they had lasted a whole lot longer, when I opened one it was not as ripe inside as I expected from the looks of the outside. I will be trying this again, maybe with a side by side comparison like in the photo.
